Since its inception on 8 April 2011, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has celebrated Girls in ICT Day annually on the fourth Thursday in April, championing the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in empowering young women and girls. At Women in STEM, celebrations will run from 24th of April to 3rd of March, 2025 in collaboration with different partners.

Stakeholders Meeting for the most influential gathering of Women in STEM Leadership in Africa.

The Women in STEM Leaders Network is joining forces and contributing to key discussions around STEM. Building on the African Union's 2024 theme, "Educate an African fit for the 21st Century", UNESCO and the African Union Commission (AUC) with key continental organizations, are co-organizing a three-day conference to forge a continent-wide strategic partnership to build a transformative science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) ecosystem. This comprehensive approach, coupled with strong collaboration among stakeholders, aims to position Africa as an equal player in the future of STEM education, innovation, entrepreneurship and diplomacy.

Training of Lead Trainers: Experience AI is an innovative educational program designed to provide cutting-edge resources on artificial intelligence and machine learning to teachers and students aged 11–14. This program, a collaborative effort between the Raspberry Pi Foundation, Women TechMakers and Google DeepMind, empowers educators and young learners with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the exciting and fast-moving field of AI.
