Youth in Action

Youth in Action  (Youth WomSTEM) is a young women-led program that engages youth and children through an integrated pathway of STEM learning, leadership development, and hands-on community projects. Participants explore science, technology, and engineering through workshops, mentoring, and team challenges, then apply their skills to design and implement practical, sustainable solutions that do not cause harm to the environment, for schools and local needs. The program strengthens technical competencies (coding, design thinking, prototyping) alongside transferable skills such as communication, project management, collaboration, confidence and agency, therefore developing a pipeline of future STEM leaders.

Youth WomSTEM has in the past impacted more than 250,000 girls, young women and youth through programs like Africa Code Week supported by SAP, UNESCO and Camden Trust, Be the COP Child Online Protection with Communications Authority, Agri-tech Innovation and Smart Landscapes with CIFOR ICRAF, Digital Sustainability with UNEP, Breaking Barriers with Women Techmakers, IEEE Women in Engineering and ISACA Ke, and AI Governance and Digital Safety Bootcamps with Space Shift, to name a few.
