Fem-Hub is our centre of excellence for women innovators in business or social enterprise. Run under the WomSTEM Innovation and Entrepreneurship Agency, it emphasizes a strong focus on mentorship and sustainability, and ultimately enables entrepreneurship that is impact driven.
Women should be at the forefront of innovation. Diversity adds dimension and perspective, which in turn drive creative thinking. Women can approach problems and interact differently than men, opening channels of thought that could otherwise be missed.
Why are impact entrepreneurship skills important?
Impact entrepreneurship skills are crucial for women as they empower them to create and lead innovative ventures, fostering economic growth and job creation while addressing social and environmental issues. These skills help bridge gender gaps, providing tools to overcome systemic challenges and access funding and networks. Women-led enterprises contribute to sustainable development and offer diverse perspectives and solutions. Successful women entrepreneurs serve as role models, inspiring more women to pursue entrepreneurial paths, ultimately contributing to a more equitable and sustainable future.
In collaboration with our Network of Young Women in Business, we are running and looking for partnerships to:
1. Enable Women in Business to run enterprises that are sustainable environmentally, economically and socially.
2. Encourage Women in STEM to become entrepreneurial and create jobs for others.
3. Upskill women led enterprises (from both a technical and experiential POV) in soft skills such as: Leadership, Management, World Class Customer Service, High Impact Presentations, Communications, Financial Literacy, Engagement with Media skills etc.
4. Build the capacity of women entrepreneurs to embrace digital marketing, technology and e-commerce for scale and innovation, therefore improved participation in the digital economy.
5. Gender mainstreaming: Integrating a gender perspective into policies, programs, and operations to ensure equitable outcomes for both women and men.
