As AI-driven technologies become increasingly integrated into daily life, understanding their impact on diverse populations is critical. The importance of insights from African women on the safety, supportiveness, and potential harms of AI-chatbot interactions cannot be overstated.

Africa is home to countless qualified and competent women, who have made significant contributions to our continent's progress. The absence of a female candidate in the final four is a stark reminder, of the persistent gender inequalities that continue to plague our societies.

The Women in STEM Leaders Network through its partnerships with organizations like Columbia University, through its Global Centers (eg Nairobi) and Google, supports women in STEM with programs focusing on digital leadership and online safety, offering training, mentorship, and initiatives to bridge digital divides, and address issues like data privacy and cybersecurity for girls and women.
