Description

Women Techmakers' International Women's Day (IWD) is a campaign to celebrate, connect, learn, and to recognize the incredible contributions of women around the world. It is also a call to action for accelerating gender equity.

Breaking the pattern means to stop accepting things just because they've always been that way. This is the moment to disrupt old biases, step into spaces where we weren't expected, and rewrite the rules of who gets to shape technology's future.

In Kenya, we are collaborating with Maasai Mara University, QuantumKe, and allies to make sure women, girls and youth from the Rangelands - where wild life roam - are also reached. Whether at learning institutions, or at the village level.

Emerging technologies such as Quantum, Advanced AI and Robotics must be accessible and inclusive, otherwise the cycle of non equity and lack of representation will repeat itself.

MAIN SPEAKERS:

• DR. Charity Koinana - Research & Innovation Coordinator, Maasai Mara University and Sen. Lecturer, School of Natural Resources, Environmental Studies and Agriculture

• Ms  Shannon Mujera - Community Lead, QuantumKe and National Secretary, Robotics Society of Kenya

• Ms. Ida Nganga - President, Women in STEM Leaders Network and Director, AI & STEM Partnerships Hub
